Heart to Heart Transparent Dev Sitrep

Good afternoon fellow camper. I hope that you had a lovely Spring Equinox, a lovely week, and however you are spending it are having a terrific weekend!

First and foremost I want to hand on heart express a big thank you. I want to thank YOU, every single person, no matter who you are, where you're from, your background, nationality, sex, or age who follow my game and enjoy it! Thank you to every individual who's played my game, left constructive feedback, a review, gotten involved in the community on Discord, given me praise. Thank you to everyone who's tested my game, proof-read, coded, given a shout out, who's both past, current and in the future will/does donate to me. Each of you are genuinely the rock of support that I've needed and need. Period. There is no simpler way to express it, other than that. The appreciation I have for you I cannot express and the lovely little fan base that's growing for what I'm creating I absolutely love! We've had a huge uptick of people following the game, so clearly there is a slow, but steady buzz growing for it.

Games development is still going well, despite the challenges that come with it. I highlighted a setback in the last subscriber dev blog, which is fixable, but will none the less add more time before the next update can come out. I've for several years from my own pocket been paying for a music license that has enabled me to use the soundtrack for the game. Story short, without going into it I can no longer use the music, so I'll have to "for now" use creative commons and license free music. In the future when finances allow I plan to purchase licensing rights individually from artists, which cuts out the "middleman" and can work out cheaper. Just can be a pain finding decent music to fit the "moods" of different scenes. If anyone knows any good music, especially creative commons, please hit me up! Will take any suggestion under consideration.

The other factor that I want to indicate is that the true reality is that for the majority of people, times are hard. I've had a few lovely subs who've had to cancel due to things becoming tight in their life. I want to rest assure each and everyone of you that I appreciate and value all of you. And I appreciate you who's reading this blog right now to take the time to read what I'm saying. Whether you're a paying sub, or not. Development will continue, but respectably development may slow down as hardships persist, as like the rest of you, I'm in the same boat.

As always, subscribing to a tier is optional, so if you have the means to do so, please consider doing so as there are many costs associated with creating a game, which I could do what seems like an endless list to highlight.

These vary in brief terms from the assets that I use (whether that be clothing/hair/character models/poses/sets/effects). Also there's Software, music, hardware (such as GPU/CPU/cooling)/workplace upgrades, as well as running costs. Higher specs are needed to render faster and create more ambitious scenes as the game progresses and grows in size, which without the bar on my maximum output and quality will be limited. There is a large list of costs associated to create this game. As I'm trying to create a nice, high quality and a more unique game as fast as I can please consider subbing as a subscriber if you wish for me to be able to produce the game at optimum efficiency, without needing to slow down development.  To be more professional, whilst still being humble and honest when it comes to development, it'll not change how development is conducted; however, i'll from now on be referring to those financially supporting me as "Subs/Subscribers, vs Donors." I want you to feel valued for your custom and that you are getting value from my game."

I'm now able to be working on a few "smaller scenes, which I hope to have some fun creating" (as let's be frank) I want to get away from a scene that I've been working on for so long, before I get to the finale scene for Chapter 3. It'll be exciting, but challenging to do, and one of my proof-readers I'll have closely involved in helping me work out how to best represent that scene (within my technical limitations), whilst having it be a fun scene.

As I've warned y'all, there will be a big climatic event that'll drop at the end of Chapter 3. We're not at the "slashing yet" as want to have up to a few more chapters of development/bonding first... but the tensions will rise, and we'll start seeing (cracks) emerging. I hope that you've enjoyed the teases that I've thrown in and want to apologies if development has to slow down at any given point, as I foreshadow things possibly slowing down; however, despite the rough patches each of us are going through and the troubling times... let's all take a deep breath, and even if development has to slow (which I'll be honest about, if it does), let's all get through it together... so that we can continue enjoying Fairwood in later releases and with it the wonderful world of Adult Visual Novels.

UNTIL NEXT TIME!
