DEVELOPMENT SITREP 14

IT HAS BEEN A WHILE, SINCE I'VE DONE A DEV BLOG, AND I DO APOLOGISE FOR THAT.

I have been meaning since Tuesday to do a dev blog, and before that have wanted to do one for a few weeks, but to say that a lot has been going on, would be an understatement.

So let's have some TRANSPARANCY, before I throw out some teases!

This post is also public over on my Patreon. Should you wish to support my development, please consider visiting over there. I also, do donor only posts from time to time for Veteran + tiers.

I managed to keep it under wraps, with the exception of those on the beta-testing team, that I have recently, again lost a very close relative a few weeks ago, on the same day of my fathers passing last year, so it's been quite rough for me, and my family, especially my mother. Despite that; however, any of my testers, proof-readers/coders and friends, even family etc can tell you that to keep busy for those few weeks I have been ploughing on with rendering to keep Chapter 2's progress moving. So, unlike when my father passed away, no I have not taken a break, so I'm a tad burnt out I'm not going to lie, but after chapter 2's release I do plan to take a break (I am only human after all). There have been some "other" developments as well, but on top of that the most frustrating occurred on Tuesday. On Tuesday (the same day I wanted to do this dev blog) my laptop had a breaking incident.

I tend to do all of my Photoshop editing, writing, coding and "everything" on laptop, for the portability, whilst rendering and animating "very novice practice stage of it" is done on a PC.

But, after the laptop falling off my table, pretty much made continuing to work effectively, very difficult and not practical. So a lot of time was spent doing emergency back ups.

Video showing it also:

This pretty much messed up my dev plans for the day, so I had to make some calls and order a new laptop. The next day the laptop came, time to celebrate. I spent hours setting it up, had my lovely coder help sorting things out that needed to be in place to be operational again.... So, a huge thank you to him, for being such a star these past few days!

Then to add more salt to an already eventful week, that laptops battery would never charge (faulty/dead battery). So another broken laptop.  So on Monday next week, the store that I purchased it from, should be picking it up, and hopefully, they'll promptly refund me sometime next week (I hope).

So I had to AGAIN, get another laptop, bearing in mind that I still have not been refunded for the first one I ordered (yes I got it from elsewhere).. so whilst I deal with that drama of pursuing a refund (as money is extremely tight as for everyone these days), I do NOW have a working laptop again, yay!

So let's throw some teasers your way on what I had been working on, without further ado.

I am progressively getting more happier at what I think is evident improvement in visual quality of my rendering as I progress through Chapter 2.

I have some renders that I'm slowly going back over and redoing as I progress through chapter 2. IF and a big "IF" I get time, there is a scene for definite that I want to redo in Chapter 1, before Chapter 2's release, but again, will see down to time and of course, the priority being chapter 2 first. But, I think that as you play from start to finish of Chapter 2, you will see a jump in improvement, which is just me learning as I go on.

As with all, and any of my teasers I try to limit what I showcase, as of course, I do not want to spoil anything that actually happens, thus why I've been doing some lovely pin-ups that many of you have enjoyed in recent weeks to avoid releasing spoilers that would otherwise ruin some things that I wish to keep hush hush. I have previously been showing some render visuals of a horror scene that occurs in Chapter 2, well, within some of these renders it is also, another horror scene.

That's right... Chapter 2 will have two horror scenes, and that is before the first in-game day is even over.

I will be in due course, if nothing else hits the "fan", be dedicating some time to finish off the other "two" routes of Chapter 2 in terms of the script, whilst having one or two upcoming transitional animations being produced. It is hard to sit down and actually think, and be able to write, when you're constantly setting up, and switching between renders, some Devs can relate to this, some are the master pros of multi-tasking, so I need some peace and quiet and the right mind on the day to write.

But Chapter 2 is rendering very well, as I am making faster and more progress compared to when I was working on the Prologue and Chapter 1. Bare in mind that having a better GPU, really does do wonders as rendering with just a CPU processor, when DAZ 3D cannot read your past AMD GPU was pure torture!

So, I hope that you've enjoyed these few render teases, appreciate me explaining the rollercoasters as of late, but be rest assured I am, and have still been working on development, and I so cannot wait for you all to play Chapter 2 in the future!

As always, I have a Discord server, which I'm very active on, and other like-minded individuals also actively talk on. So, if whilst following development, you'd like to be in a lovely Discord server, please consider joining Sakura Blossom Games over at:

And as always, a huge thank you to each of my donors. Each of you are terrific, and I can never say thank you enough as each of you are helping me continue to create a game that I'm so passionate for and love! Further to this a big thank you to those of you helping advice me, test my game, proof-read for me, code and just help raise my spirits, especially when the going gets tough. A big shout out and hug for all of you!

Disclaimer: As always, I wish to confirm that every "character" presented in these images, who are within my game, along with every other character that I make, are and always will be at least 21 years of age.
